In a heartwarming follow-up to a harrowing local tale, Coatesville’s Carla Long was able to find and reunite with the Clifton Heights man who saved her life last week after her car slid on ice on Route 82 (a north-south roadway in Chester County), flipped on its side, and crashed into a ditch, reports Inside Edition

Once the car stopped, she was terrified.

“I was pinned,” she said. “I was screaming, flashing my high beams.”

She could see cars passing and finally, a man pulled over and asked her if she was okay. He called 911 and kept Long calm while waiting for help to arrive.

Then, a pickup truck flew off the road at the exact same spot, barely missing the man, and crashed into Long’s car.

The man still waited with Long until emergency crews arrived but in the chaos of it all, she did not get his name.

Carla Long was finally able to reunite with Robert Williams, a truck driver from Clifton Heights. The two were able to connect after a friend of Williams’ son saw a local news video and reached out to the family.

“I’m glad you’re all right,” said Williams as the two embraced.

Further detail on this act of kindness is at Inside Edition.
