East Coventry-Based Builder Helps Nearby Couple Design Dream Home From Scratch
When high school sweethearts Mark Visco. Jr. and Nicole Holden decided to build their dream home from scratch during the pandemic, they turned to East Coventry-based Rotelle Studio(e) for help, writes Terri Akman for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
The couple purchased a 2.6-acre lot in their hometown of Upper Dublin Township and found a design they liked.
While the design stage went without issues, the building stage was difficult. On top of subcontractors not always turning up when scheduled, Upper Dublin’s permitting office was destroyed by a tornado — which created an additional two-month delay.
“The biggest challenge was thinking ahead of manufacturing lead times during the pandemic,” said Madeline LaGueux, design coordinator at Rotelle Studio(e). “This had our production team pivoting into ordering items like doors, appliances, and plumbing fixtures significantly earlier than we had in the past.”
Now that the stress of the construction is behind them, the couple can enjoy their beautiful custom farmhouse to the fullest.
The two-story home features four bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms. The first floor boasts twelve-foot cathedral ceilings, a spacious kitchen, and plenty of windows to fill the rooms with natural light.
