Skippack Township Driver Discovered a Purr from His Car — And It Wasn’t His Engine

By

John Gannone was driving through Skippack Township near SCI Phoenix (the former Graterford Prison) when he became aware of something odd in the undercarriage of his Hyundai Sonata. 6abc reported on the how his resolution of the situation had a element of being lucky the cat was lucky.

Gannone, sensing some sort of car trouble, pulled over on Route 73. It was then he was able to identify the issue: a female kitten was stuck under the sedan.

He tried to free the scared animal but was unable.

He then called for help; an on-duty tow truck was dispatched, but owing to its service of other motorists, the wait was an hour.

When the roadside assistant finally arrived onsite, he and Gannon decided that the best course of action was to tow the car to a nearby auto shop, get it up on a lift, and extract the frightened feline.

The plan worked, and soon thereafter, Gannone and the kitten were on their way home.

Once there, his wife posted the availability of the pet — appropriately dubbed “Lucky” — online.

It wasn’t long before a new owner stepped up to claim her.

More on Lucky (including additional photos) is at 6abc.
