The Wonder Years, a pop-punk band from Lansdale, is honoring its Philly area-roots in its new album “The Hum Goes on Forever.” Lead singer Dan “Soupy” Campbell is an avid Eagles fan, so it’s no surprise that he would give a shoutout to Super Bowl legend Nick Foles in the track “The Paris of Nowhere,” Shamus Clancy, in Philly Voice, charted the band’s inspiration.

The song refers to Foles by his moniker “Saint Nick.” The former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback was the first player to throw and catch a touchdown pass in a Super Bowl, helping defeat the New England Patriots back in 2018.

“And everyone, everywhere had the same question — could Nick really do it? I remember driving down [I-95] before Christmas and seeing a billboard that just said “Philly believes in Saint Nick” and feeling the most at home I had in my entire life. I’ll never forget what the Birds gave me that year, what Nick Foles and Malcolm Jenkins and Jason Kelce gave us all.” said Campbell.

The new album is on Spotify and Youtube Music.

Campbell was one of the founders of the band in 2005, but he’s since pursued other projects including Aaron West and the Roaring Twenties. The Wonder Years has released six full-length albums and are set to go on tour in the U.S. and U.K. this year.

Fans can catch a gig at Franklin Music Hall in Philly on October 12.

Fans of both pop-punk and the Eagles can find out more about The Wonder Years in Philly Voice.
