Local Nonprofit Seeks Volunteers Who Want More Out of Summer 2022 Than a Killer Tan
With the July 4 holiday in the rear-view mirror, the rest of Summer 2022 can seem like somewhat of a bore. Out-of-class students feel it, but area retirees can catch the seasonal malaise as well. Fortunately, Integrate for Good — the Creamery, Pa., nonprofit that eases homelessness and inspires hope — has a worthy opportunity for all demographics: summer volunteers.
Each day of the workweek, Integrate for Good gathers pro bono residents with an altruistic streak and matches them with activities that work for the general good.
Projects include recycling discarded plastic grocery bags into sleeping mats for the Montgomery County homeless population. It’s a small act of dignity that not only helps the recipients but also is environmentally friendly.
Other efforts include painting kindness rocks and writing notes of hope and gratitude to members of the military.
Whatever assets volunteers bring, the most important two are time and an generous outlook. All other components for these projects — materials, instructions, inspiration — are courtesy of Integrate for Good.
The summer schedule of dates, times, and locations for this altruistic work are:
