The 2022 Philadelphia Flower Show results indicate a bumper crop of horticultural talent in Montgomery County. Themed to highlight interpretations of the area “In Full Bloom,” the show was again held outdoors, the second time in its nearly 200-year history.

The theme seemed intended to be an antidote for the region’s ongoing struggles with the pandemic. Organizers sought to imbue competitors and spectators with an air of good health, positive well-being, and passion for life — all attainable through the restorative power of nature and plants.

Villanova University took a Silver Medal, Pennsylvania Landscape & Nursery Association Trophy, the PHS Gardening for the Greater Good, as well as many other gardens and nurseries garnering great awards.

Refugia Design in Narberth also took home The Governor’s Trophy, who designed its exhibit to be alive with sights, sounds, and smells and featured native plants, sustainable materials, and innovative soundscapes.

They also took home the Special Achievement Award – Garden Club Federation of Pennsylvania (Creativity: 1,000 sq ft & over) and the PHS Gold Medal  (Landscape).

The 2022 Philadelphia Flower Show runs until June 19 at FDR Park at Broad and Pattison.

Tickets to see the award-winning work of both Mark Cook and DelVal University are available online. See a list of the winners here.
