Concerts Under the Stars Featuring Live Performances by David Uosikkinen’s In The Pocket, Bakithi Kumalo’s Graceland Experience, David Bromberg and More Returns to Upper Merion Township Building Park for Its 36th Season, Summer 2022

Beginning in June, the live music series Concerts  Under  the  Stars will return to Upper Merion Township Building Park for its 36th season. The summer-long concert series will be co-presented by Ardmore Music Hall, Point Entertainment & Upper Merion Township, and will include live music for all ages, a beer garden featuring local craft brews and cocktails and local food truck options. Events will take place from 7-10pm on select weeknights and 6-9pm on select Sundays. Tickets and more information are available   HERE.

To kick off this year’s season, Concerts Under the Stars will welcome  David  Uosikkinen for a special Saturday night kickoff event on June 25th. Led by the group’s eponymous drummer (of The Hooters), the group celebrates the rich musical history of Philadelphia with a number of special guests including members of The Soul Survivors, The A’s, Beru Revue, Ween and NRBQ, as well as well-known Philadelphia-based singer/songwriters and musicians including Jeffrey Gaines, Tommy Conwell, Ben Arnold and Alexis Cunningham.

Other shows throughout the summer will include Talking Heads tribute  Start  Making  Sense, rock guitarist and singer/songwriter Dave Hause  and his band The Mermaid, legendary guitarist and session musician  David Bromberg, and  Bakithi  Kamalo  (of Paul Simon’s band)

performing Simon’s classic album Graceland with a number of local musicians.

In addition to ticketed events, Concerts Under the Stars will also present two free shows this season: one featuring nationally-recognized, Philadelphia-based alt-folk staple  Hezekiah

 Jones, and another with local tribute act  Steal Your  Peach performing music from the Grateful Dead’s Europe ’72 and the Allman Brothers’ Eat a Peach albums, both of which are celebrating their 50th anniversaries this year.

Concerts Under the Stars will be set up to comfortably host a large general admission capacity in a beautiful park setting; attendees will be welcome to bring blankets and chairs, while limited seating options will be available to guests who purchase a VIP ticket. Season passes will also be available for the most avid concertgoers.

For over three decades, Concerts Under the Stars has brought local, regional and national performing artists to the scenic Upper Merion Township Building Park in King of Prussia, and has previously played host to The Avett Brothers, Tom Rush, Dar Williams, Terrance Simien, Patty Griffin and Gaelic Storm, among many others. For its upcoming season, they are teaming up with regional co-presenters Ardmore Music Hall and Point Entertainment, who have brought artists including Toots & the Maytals, Dr. John, Macy Gray, Norah Jones and Amos Lee to the Philadelphia area, and currently produce concerts at a number of local music venues including The Colonial Theatre, Underground Arts and MilkBoy Philly.
