Adam Sandler’s New Movie ‘Hustle’ Filmed at Manor College Shines Bright Spotlight on Philadelphia Region
The trailer for the new Adam Sandler movie “Hustle” that prominently features Manor College is out and it is packed with all things Philadelphia, writes Michael Tanenbaum for the Philly Voice.
The movie that is slated for a June release stars Sandler as a basketball scout who is trying to jumpstart the NBA career of a troubled but talented overseas prospect, played by NBA’s Juancho Hernangomez.
The player gets an opportunity with the Philadelphia 76ers, but Sandler has to keep him motivated to click with the team while saving his own scouting career in the process. Queen Latifah, Robert Duvall, and Ben Foster also star in the movie.
In addition to Manor College, film crews working on the movie were spotted in Center City, North Philly, South Philly, Manayunk, Chester, and Coatesville, among other Philly, Montgomery County, and Chester County places. A lot of them are easily recognizable in the trailer.
During the making of the movie, Sandler interacted with residents and often visited local businesses in the area, showing his support for the region.
Take a quiz to see how many local things you can recognize in the Hustle trailer at the Philly Voice.
