Matrimony on the Move: Downingtown Woman Ties the Knot on SEPTA’s Paoli/Thorndale Line

By

Autumn Katzenmoyer and Steve Patterson’s life together has started on the right track, after the couple and their guests boarded a SEPTA train at the Downingtown Station and got married, according to a report from 6ABC.

Following a luncheon at the Station Tap Room in Downingtown, Katzenmoyer and Patterson boarded a train on the Paoli/Thorndale Line and exchanged their vows. They then celebrated with their 50-plus guests all the way to Suburban Station.

After getting off the train, the two had their first dance as a married couple at the station. The wedding party then continued on to the W Hotel in Center City.

The two decided to get married on a train because they spent the first year of their relationship commuting between the bride’s home in Downingtown and the groom’s in Philadelphia. They contacted SEPTA to see if it was feasible and were promptly given the green light.

However, the train they got married on does not usually stop at Downingtown. For this special occasion, though, it was easy for SEPTA to accommodate.
