The West Chester University Symphony Orchestra and other musical ensembles from WCU’s Wells School of Music will host the fourth annual Concert on the Quad on Thursday, May 5 from 4:30-6:30 PM.

The open-air concert is a festive event that includes raffles, giveaways, and free popcorn and is presented for the enjoyment of both the campus and the community.

Guests are invited to bring their own blankets, chairs, and food. The Academic Quad is located just behind the Philips Memorial Building at 700 South High Street

The concert, last presented in 2019 because of the COVID-19 pandemic, will feature the West Chester Symphony Orchestra, conducted by its Music Director, Joseph Caminiti, from 5:30-6:30 PM. The fun begins at 4:30 PM when the Latin Jazz Ensemble warms up the audience with pre-concert entertainment.

“We are thrilled to once again present this festive event,” said Caminiti. “The Concert on the Quad is a wonderful way to welcome spring to our lovely campus and to have fun and enjoy gorgeous music by our talented student musicians on what we hope will be a beautiful evening.”

This concert is also N.I.C.E. (Neurodiverse Inclusive Campus Event) and open to all. Accommodations include trained volunteers, ASL interpretation, squishy toys/stress balls, a quiet area, a therapy dog, and WCU’s beloved mascot, Rammy. Learn more.

In the event of rain, the concert will move indoors to the Emilie K. Asplundh Concert Hall in the Philips Memorial Building. No food is permitted inside the venue.
