Former Cognizant Technology Solutions executive Claudius Sokenu has been hired by Blue Bell-based Unisys as the information-technology services provider’s new general counsel and secretary, effective May 2, writes David Smagalla for The Wall Street Journal.

In this role, Sokenu will lead the company’s global legal, corporate-secretary, and ethics and compliance functions.

He will directly report to Unisys Chief Executive Peter Altabef.

He is replacing Gerald Kenney, who is retiring.

In his previous company, Sokenu worked as senior vice president, global deputy general counsel, and chief of staff to the general counsel.

Prior to that, he worked at energy company Andeavor, now part of Marathon Petroleum, as the global head of ethics and compliance and global head of litigation and investigations.

Earlier in his career, Claudius Sokenu was a partner at law firms Shearman & Sterling LLP, Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer LLP, and Mayer Brown LLP.

This is the second mayor hire for Unisys in as many weeks.

Last week, the company said it had hired Dun & Bradstreet executive Debra McCann as its executive vice president and chief financial officer.
