Valley Forge Tourism and Convention Board has partnered with a platform that uses cellphone geolocation data to better understand the interests of Montgomery County visitors, writes Laura Smythe for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Zartico, which is characterized as a destination operating system, centralizes anonymous geolocation data to provide a picture of the movement of visitors. The platform receives data from over 1.8 billion mobile devices across more than 180 countries every 24 hours.

Data sources include more than 5,000 financial institutions and 90 million credit cards and a daily data stream of over 40 million events from 300 sources, such as Ticketmaster and Live Nation.

VFTCB is the five-county Philadelphia region’s first destination marketing organization to partner with Zartico.

The software helps identify points of interest throughout the county, such as hotels, restaurants, and various attractions, and shows in-depth movement patterns of Montgomery County visitors.

This helps the tourism board create a visitor profile and better understand who is interested in visiting Montgomery County.

“This time around we’re going to know where visitors are and what they see so we can really get the right people to come visit Montgomery County,” said Justine Garbarino, associate vice president of marketing.
