Pottstown native Daryl Hall, a member of one of the most popular music duos of all time, Hall and Oates, is set to release his new solo retrospective compilation, BeforeAfter, on April 1, writes Rob Tannenbaum for the Los Angeles Times.

Over the years, Hall has released five solo albums. He has recorded with an array of musicians, from Dave Stewart of Eurythmics to King Crimson guitarist Robert Fripp.

“I worked with some pretty amazing people on those solo records, as I did with Hall & Oates records,” he said.

For the new compilation, he selected songs that will help people see that his body of work consists of a variety of styles.

The 30 songs include eight from a web series and TV show he started in 2007 called Live From Daryl’s House, where he and his band perform with various guest stars, like Wyclef Jean and Smokey Robinson. One of the selected songs is his duet with Todd Rundgren, Can We Still Be Friends.

Hall is also starting a tour with Rundgren on April 1 that will feature separate sets for each musician along with several songs performed together.
