In Montgomery County, We All Agree That Wawa and Sheetz Food Are OK, But When You Combine Them, Wow!
William Penn reporter Asha Prihar has experienced Sheetz and Wawa in her lifetime.
She grew up in Sheetz territory but has since moved to Philly, where Wawa is king.
Adapting to her new terrain, Prihar decided to try one new Wawa item every day for two weeks. After consulting with friends, colleagues, Twitter, and her readers, Prihar had a list of 30 items.
It was not a Sheetz popular foods list, which Twitter followers declared as mac n’ cheese bites, Boom Boom sauce, fryz, and 2-for-1 hot dogs.
After eating her way through the list, Prihar decided that, like most things in life, Wawa’s menu was good and bad.
The Shortis were satisfying, the mashed potatoes were “earth-shattering.” The mint milkshake was also top tier.
But she was not a Sizzli fan.
Anything with cheese made her miss Sheetz. A lot. Her best food experience came by combining the macaroni and cheese from both stores.
Wawa and Sheetz have collaborated on charitable causes, but never on food.
“We’re not quite Wisconsin, but if anything could bring the good people of Pennsylvania together under one big tent, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was cheese,” she wrote.
