Due to rising COVID infection case numbers, Montgomery County Commissioners just approved a lease for another county testing facility in Lansdale, writes Rachel Ravina for Main Line Media News.

The leasing agreement made between the Montgomery County Office of Public Health and Patriarch Management LP will cover a one-year lease for the space located at 400 Pennbrook Parkway.

“I received several different communications from folks in Lansdale asking that a testing site be opened there, and I’m pleased that we are able to meet this local community need,” said Montgomery County Commissioners’ Chairwoman Val Arkoosh.

The county also has several other testing sites open in Ardmore, Green Lane, Norristown, Pottstown, and Willow Grove.

In addition to the lease, commissioners authorized a $900,000 contract with the Valley Forge Tourism and Convention Board for a marketing campaign to help encourage vaccination against the virus.

A previously approved contract provided monetary assistance throughout the ongoing pandemic via a variety of avenues, which secured funding from the county’s proceeds from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act.

Among the county’s initiatives included the King of Prussia-based “Make it Main Street Campaign” as well as the “development of an integrated marketing plan to target Montco 16–30 year-olds, and encourage vaccination against COVID-19.”

Only one commissioner voted against this week’s proposed initiative, so the plan will go forward.
