Allison Greenfield, a Plymouth Meeting resident, is one of the many people nationwide who decided to remodel their bathrooms after they were forced to spend much more time at home during the pandemic, writes Terri Akman for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Greenfield had many issues with her original bathroom which only intensified during the lockdown.

“The huge tub wasn’t functional and was taking up so much space,” she recalled. “It had a really small shower, bad lighting, and very little storage space.”

So last spring, she decided to create her dream bathroom. Now, the mostly gray and white space sports a dark blue shower tile that truly stands out. She then installed a large shower with an extra rain head and a niche to hold bath products. There is also a built-in bench.

Greenfield added a separate makeup station and layers of lightning. And to add a level of warmth to it all, she installed heated floors.

Her bathroom now fits in perfectly with her vision.

“The bathroom has become a sanctuary, a Zen spa where people can go to decompress,” said Marcello Luzi, managing principal of Ardmore-based WPL Interior Design, who designed Greenfield’s bathroom.
