When he made the decisive touchdown for the New York Giants during the November 28 game against Philadelphia Eagles, Elkins Park native Chris Myarick made his teammates happy, but many of his friends back home are most likely not so thrilled by the move, writes Ryan Dunleavy for the New York Post.

For Myarick, it was a storybook moment as he just signed off the practice squad that week because of a shortage caused by injuries.

“It would’ve been just as sweet against any team,” said Myarick. “Being from Philly, I didn’t really put too much of that going into this game. [My friends] might be a little mad at me, but I’ll take our win, for sure.”

Chris Myarick began his career playing at Cheltenham High School and continued as a walk-on at Temple, which shares the Eagles’ home stadium.

He was undrafted and played for Miami Dolphins, alternating between the team’s active roster and practice squad over two seasons. He finally joined the Giants’ practice squad in September.

Now that he has the chance to be on the active roster, Myarick made sure to use it to the maximum.
