Conshohocken-based Zuppler, founded by Shiva Srinivasan, works with restaurants to integrate an online ordering platform into their own websites, writes Kennedy Rose for The Business Journals.

And while it faces tough competition from other ordering sites, such as DoorDash and Grubhub, Zuppler stands out by not charging high commission fees per order. Instead, the company charges a monthly fee for unlimited orders.

Our focus was to support restaurants to take back control of their customers and their brand in the online space,” said Srinivasan.

Zuppler also does not have a delivery fleet.

Restaurants can use their own delivery staff or the platform can connect them with local delivery services.

“We believe in promoting local and building the business locally,” added Srinivasan.

Additionally, Zuppler has partnered with several corporations, including American Airlines and Marriott, to publish restaurant menus on their websites.

Customers can then order from those businesses online for an additional fee.

The startup currently operates in 11 different countries on six continents, and the plan is to keep growing. Srinivasan’s next step is to build a platform that would keep customers informed on when their orders will be ready.
