Pottsgrove Middle School students and staff worked hard over the last month to accumulate more than 2,500 pounds of food that will be distributed to school district families in need on Monday as part of the “Middle School Market,” writes Joe Zlomek for The Sanatoga Post.

The aim is to ensure that each family has a little extra on their Thanksgiving table this year. The abundance of food that was collected will ensure that many people can benefit from the food drive.

The first intended recipients are residents of Pottsgrove. They are invited to the “Middle School Market” on Monday, November 22. The market will take place inside the school building’s library located at 1351 N. Hanover Street.

The “Falcon Community Helpers” event is being run by faculty members and is open to any family that might need dinner table assistance. Those who attend can “shop” at the market and pick up a free bag of food or a winter coat.

Whatever goods remain after the market closes will be transported to the Pottstown Cluster of Religious Communities’ food pantry, so other Pottsgrove neighbors can also benefit.
