On your mark, get set, go! The Hobart’s Run by the River 5K held on November 14, 2021, brought together community members who ran for a good cause: neighborhood improvement projects facilitated by Hobart’s Run.

After Covid pushed their annual 5K fundraiser to a virtual format last year, they celebrated with a different name and location this year.

The Run by the River was held along the gorgeous Schuylkill River Trail.

Returning runners voiced approval of the water view setting, not to mention the relatively flat path, compared to the previous course, which began and ended on The Hill School’s campus and included some challenging grades.

5K was a great way to take action and help fund Pottstown’s neighborhood improvement initiatives!

The race helped raise funds, a portion of which will benefit the “Love Your Block” initiative spearheaded by our Pottstown Community Action partners.

The remaining funds will help support Hobart’s Run programs such as their Adopt-A-Trashcan effort and Façade Improvement Grants.

All winners and their times have been posted by official race-timers Pretzel City Sports.

A big thanks to all who participated and special appreciation to our sponsors, including two anonymous donors: Monastra and Grater; Montgomery County Community College; Pottstown Area Health and Wellness Foundation; Tower Health/Pottstown Hospital; Cedarville Engineering; Wolf Baldwin Associates; Sitko Tree Farm; District Attorney and Mrs. Kevin Steele; Huskey Digital Media; the Gulati Family Foundation.

The Hobart’s Run neighborhood initiative, a 501(c)(3), was launched by The Hill School in 2016 to create a clean and safe community; foster inclusivity; provide incentives for homeownership and property pride, and generate quality business development.
