Glenside native Jillian Mele, a former Comcast Sports Net host, is leaving Fox News after four years with the network to pursue an MDA at La Salle University, writes Rob Tornoe for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Mele announced the news last week on Fox & Friends First, which she started co-hosting soon after being hired as a news anchor on Fox & Friends.

“This has been the most difficult decision I have made my entire life,” she said. “Ultimately, I had to do what was right for me. I’m going to take a little time, focus on my personal life, which I haven’t done my whole adult life, and sleep past 1 a.m. for the first time in 15 years.”

The 39-year-old Mele is planning to continue her education at the same university where she earned her bachelor’s degree.

During her four years with Fox News, Mele appeared on several news programs followed by former President Donald Trump, which landed her on his now-defunct Twitter feed multiple times. Before she was on Fox News, Jillian Mele knows whats it’s like to get up super-early (before the sun!) with her roles on the Philadelphia television scene.
