The rebranding and updates to the site include the recent addition of a 26-foot by 144-foot mural on the Acme building facing Old York Road, multiple sculptures and new signage under the theme, “Life Happens Here.”

The Pavilion, a commercial property with 330,000 SF of medical and office space alongside locally owned retailers like Nicole Bridal, Daily Grind, Diane Glynn Jewelry, Stupp Furs, L’Etoile and Heaven Spa, will be the heart of the new Pavilion Town Center.

Joining the commercial site is a brand new 130,000 square-foot luxury apartment building, The Flats at the Pavilion Town Center (The Flats), which will be developed on the north end of the property.

The Galman Group started construction this month on the $30 million residential complex, helping to define the overall “Town Center” concept.

The Galman Team (Arnie Galman (Chair), Sam Goldstein (President) and other leadership), Abington Township President John Spiegelman, Wendy Klinghoffer (ED of the Eastern Montco Chamber of Commerce) and construction team representatives were onsite.

“This development will diversify the region’s existing housing stock, create lasting support for the Old York Road commercial corridor and most importantly, establish a dynamic and thriving hub that links Abington and Jenkintown and serves as a gateway to Montgomery County,” said Sam Goldstein, President, The Galman Group. “The Flats is an example of The Galman Group’s thoughtful, long-term investment in the Jenkintown and Abington communities.”

Once complete, The Flats will have a total of 104 rental units including 14 two-bedroom townhomes, 34 two-bedroom apartments, 50 one-bedroom apartments, and 6 studios.

Each of the approximately 1,400-square-foot townhomes will have a patio. The majority of the one and two-bedroom apartments will feature a balcony or terrace.

The top three floors of the four-story residential community contain approximately 114,000 square feet. The ground floor adds approximately 9,500 square feet of residential with an accommodating 10,500 square feet of amenities and 153 parking spaces.

Amenities will include a covered outdoor patio, a state-of-the-art fitness center with a neighboring yoga studio, a large clubroom, a lounge space, and a vibrant game room.

“We want to bring even more convenience and possibilities to the neighborhood we have served for so many years,” said Goldstein. “While we bridge our new and existing residential and commercial sites, we are also working with community partners to bring more events and activities to the town center that can be enjoyed by all. Once complete, the Pavilion Town Center will have everything you need within just a few steps and truly underscore the fact that Life Happens Here.”

The Galman Group anticipates construction of The Flats will be complete in Spring 2023.

The Pavilion Town Center transformation plans will incorporate the existing Plaza Apartments, the Acme and Burlington Coat Factory pad sites, and The Pavilion, and also include a proposed 34,000 square-foot medical office building along Old York Road.
