Aveeno’s New Campaign in Montco to Bring Attention to Skin Health Inequities for Black Women, Men, Children
Aveeno, a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson with a presence in Montgomery County, has launched the #Skinvisibility campaign to bring attention to skin health inequities for Black men, women, and children, writes Victoria Uwumarogie for Essence.
The goal is to help 100,000 people suffering from eczema over the next six months, including a number of those who are not even aware that they have the skin condition.
Aveeno will do this by providing access to its educational tools, resources, and more through its Eczema in Skin of Color digital hub.
The Skinvisibility campaign began at Aveeno last month as October is considered Eczema Awareness Month.
Among the products that help with the condition is Baby Eczema Therapy Soothing Bath Treatment from Aveeno. This is poured into the bath with the baby and is made using 100 percent natural colloidal oatmeal. It is free from fragrance and helps with irritation associated with eczema, insect bites, and more.
Another good option is Shea Butter Body Cream from Beurre. The cream is full of anti-inflammatories, including chamomile and comfrey, and contains skin moisturizers like shea butter and grapeseed oil. It also works on psoriasis, another skin condition.
