On the Market: Charming, Rustic Farmhouse Near Pottstown is Labor of Love
A handsome, rustic farmhouse near Pottstown that has recently hit the market is a true labor of love for its current owner, writes Sandy Smith for Philadelphia Magazine.
He liked the old Pennsylvania farmhouses built out of wood so much that he had one custom-made for himself 32 years ago.
Some of the wood used in the construction came from the attic of the owner’s grandmother’s home.
The result is an attractive and modern home with a rustic, countrified feel.
The home boasts a two-story foyer that leads into the main floor that is laid out like a center-hall Colonial: a classic formal dining room is on the left with a living room on the right.
The back half of the main floor is reserved for an everyday living suite, including a charming and spacious kitchen complete with an island that can seat three, a casual dining area, and the family room.
The top floor is home to four bedrooms and two bathrooms, including the primary suite with its en-suite bath.
Meanwhile, the backyard is home to a seating area with a fire pit in front of a cute storage shed.
