The popularity of golf has skyrocketed during the pandemic due to the socially distanced nature of the sport, writes Laura Brzyski for the Philadelphia Magazine.

While it can be an expensive hobby, there are several budget-friendly Montgomery county golf courses in the region, with five of the best located right here.

Bella Vista Golf Course in Gilbertsville has secluded country-feel vibes and features rolling greens and an island green on the 14th hole. The best time to visit for the most affordable prices is during the week, when you can tee off for anywhere from $35 to $57.

Jeffersonville Golf Course in Norristown features several bunkers, creating a challenging experience for both new and seasoned players. Weekday twilight time slots can start as low as $33.

Meanwhile, Raven’s Claw in Pottstown offers 6,700 yards of green for as low as $25, while the great turf at Turtle Creek can set you back between $36 and $54 seven days per week.

Finally, Walnut Lane Golf Club in Wissahickon features sloping hills and tucked-away targets and can be enjoyed for as little as $27.
