Tom Hasani is the Assistant Director of IT at Holy Ghost Preparatory School in Bensalem, as well as the Founder of AAPI Montgomery County PA, and the Treasurer of Equity Alliance for Upper Moreland.         

Born in New York City, Tom found his way to Montgomery County by way of New Jersey. “I attended Rutgers University for a BA in East Asian Studies and Religion, then to Bucks County Community College for an AAS in Information Technology, and Arcadia University for an MA in International Peace & Conflict Resolution,” he explains.

At Holy Ghost, Tom Hasani has facilitated a productive learning environment while students and teachers have navigated remote, hybrid, and in-person learning challenges over the last year.

Tom’s proudest achievement in his career thus far is putting together a Vigil against anti-Asian hate with a team of previously unknown people. “The event was a success and we formed an organization called AAPI Montgomery County (Asian Americans & Pacific Islanders) that can continue to raise awareness around AAPI issues,” he states.

Bernie Sanders has had the biggest impact on Tom’s career. “Like me, he was born in Brooklyn to immigrant parents. His focus on Civil Rights throughout his life has been an inspiration to me,” he expresses.

“What I love the most is the diversity in people in Montgomery County. Diverse people enrich our experience as residents. There are so many hidden gems as far as businesses go. We have wineries, craft breweries, and distilleries that are all unique and local, and restaurants from anywhere from Tibet to Chile,” Tom Hasani declares. “It is the type of work that needs to continue not only into the future but widely across America. Every America deserves a chance to live their life and have their basic needs met. This is what I strive for in my actions.
