Horsham-based Bimbo Bakeries USA has opened its new sales center in Conshohocken that will serve as the main distribution point for the mid-Atlantic region for 12 of the company’s brands, writes Kevin Tierney for More Than The Curve.

The new 71,218-square-foot sales center, located at 100 Academy Drive, will employ 190 associates. It replaces the old Sales Center at 1113 W. Ridge Pike that was constructed in 1959 and will be the site of Amazon’s last-mile distribution center.

From its new facility, the company will distribute products from Entenmann’s, Stroehmann, Maier’s, Sara Lee, Artesano, Thomas’, Arnold, Bimbo, Marinela, Barcel, Ballpark, and Boboli lines through 134 routes.

“We are thrilled to open our new Sales Center,” said Len DeBlock, Vice President of Mid-Atlantic Sales for Bimbo Bakeries USA. “This new facility will give our associates the space they need to continue serving our consumers in the region.”

The sales center will integrate a number of sustainability measures, including daylight harvesting window panels to minimize the need for artificial lighting during the day and HE LED Lighting with motion detectors installed throughout the facility.
