Amazon is planning to open four new delivery stations in the Philadelphia region, two of which will be located in Montgomery County, writes Pat Ralph for the Philly Voice.

According to Amazon spokesperson Andre Woodson, the new facilities will help the e-commerce giant reach its goal of creating 1,000 jobs in the area, both full-time and part-time. This will also create hundreds of jobs through Amazon’s Delivery Service Partner Program, which will impact over 40 local small businesses.

Jobs at the Amazon delivery stations start at $15 per hour and include a benefits package with full health insurance, added Woodson.

“We are proud to partner with Amazon as they expand their footprint in Philadelphia,” said Mayor Jim Kenney. “The new Amazon Delivery Station will bring additional jobs, revenue, and growth to our communities. This is a great win for our local workforce, entrepreneurs, and our residents.”

The Montgomery County Amazon Delivery stations will be located at 1103-1113 Ridge Pike in Conshohocken and 53 West Germantown Pike in East Norriton. These are expected to become operational later this year but exact dates are still not known.
