Skippack Superhero Pharmacist Vaccinates Thousands in Montco

By

Mayank Amin, the owner of Skippack Pharmacy, has so far vaccinated more than 15,000 people in Montgomery County against COVID-19 in true superhero style, writes Beccah Hendrickson for 6abc.

Amin is one of about five providers in the county who has the appropriate freezer that was donated to him to store the Pfizer vaccine. As a result, he has been receiving 3,500 doses a week so people have been flocking to him to get their vaccination.

“The community has a lot more trust in local businesses because the local businesses are owned by people who are in their community,” he said.

And to make people feel even more at ease, Amin often dons a Superman costume. Whether he is at his mass clinics at North Penn High School or visiting people’s homes, everybody has a smile on their face when they see him coming.

Dr. Mak, as he is known in the community, has also been receiving plenty of help in his efforts. More than 300 volunteers are currently assisting him with running his clinics. The newest location will be in an adjoining pizza shop that has donated its extra room to help vaccinate more people.
