Woworks, the parent company of Conshohocken-based Saladworks, has added The Simple Greek, a fast-casual Greek franchise chain, to its repertoire, writes Laura Smythe for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The fast-casual Greek franchise chain has 24 locations in 16 states, with two more locations currently under construction. It was founded six years ago by entrepreneur and television personality Marcus Lemonis, best known for hosting the CNBC reality show “The Profit.”

As part of the show, he cuts deals with struggling businesses and provides them with the necessary investment for a stake in the company. The Simple Greek – spawned out of My Big Fat Greek Gyro – was one of the featured companies.

Lemonis was involved with the sale but will not be involved with the brand after April 1, according to Kelly Roddy, CEO of Wowork. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The brands held by Woworks are positioned as healthy options that are meant to appeal particularly to millennial families and Generation Z consumers who lead active lives.

The company decided to add The Simple Greek to its portfolio because it complemented its existing Garbanzo Mediterranean Fresh brand.
