This pandemic is for the dogs. The dogs of Montco, that is!

Montgomery County Treasurer Jason Salus has announced the winner of the photo contest to become the “First Dog” of Montgomery County.

Louis of Bala Cynwyd, is the official “First Dog” of Montgomery County and will be featured on the website for dog licensing.

“Our office received close to 400 entries from all over the county.  Residents enjoyed showcasing their dogs and the judges had a difficult time in their selection”, said Salus. 

“We will celebrate the “Honorable Mentions” on the licensing website as well.  Louis and his pet parent were delighted to receive the news!”

She told us “Louis is a sweet, loving dog who is always by our side.”  He is affectionately called their “pandemic puppy” as he was born in May of 2020. “Louis whose full name is Louis Pasteur Croissant, loves to play in the snow, go on hikes and snuggle with his favorite humans.”
