Hudson Bay is planning to repurpose the Lord & Taylor space at King of Prussia Mall into offices and rebrand it York Factory, writes Natalie Kostelni for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The new name is a reference to a Canadian settlement that was also the site of a historical Hudson Bay factory.

The King of Prussia department store is scheduled to close by the end of the next month.

Hudson Bay sold the Lord & Taylor brand two years ago to Le Tote, but held onto its real estate assets.

The two-story, 119,345-square-foot space at King of Prussia Mall is one of these locations.

Initially, the plans called for a coworking space that would target office and medical users. With the coronavirus outbreak, these plans have changed.

Instead Hudson Bay is now planning to redevelop the department store into traditional office space.

The space is currently being marketed to a range of tenants. The development will commence once a set amount of leasing has been secured.
