Flanigan’s Boathouse, Conshohocken, will receive a boost from a fundraiser aimed at helping small businesses.

Flanigan’s Boathouse in Conshohocken will receive a significant boost from a multi-million dollar fundraiser aimed at helping small businesses, according to a staff report from CBS Philly.

The popular restaurant applied for a grant to the Barstool Fund, which is being run by Barstool Sports, the well-known sports and pop culture blog.

So far, the fund has managed to raise more than $17 million in funds of COVID-19 help for projects all across the country.

The eatery’s co-owner Jamie Weber received the good news via a phone call. She knew right away what the call was about and was not able to contain her excitement.

“It’s not even reality, to be perfectly honest,” she said. “It’s like I’m in a dream right now.”

And while it is still not yet known exactly how much the restaurant will receive from the fund, just being selected from among the many applicants is a good reason to celebrate.

According to the restaurant’s owners, Flanigan’s Boathouse has lost approximately $500,000 since the pandemic started.
