Local Twelve-Year-Old Takes the Wheel on His Economic Future, Starts Car Cleaning Business

By

Jabre Dutton, a 12-year-old entrepreneur, has taken the wheel on his economic future by starting his own Philadelphia-based car cleaning business in September, according to a staff report from 6abc.

At the time, he was just 11 years old.

“If you believe in yourself, that you can do it, it doesn’t matter how old you are,” said Dutton, “you can do anything you want.”

And while he did most of the hard work in starting the business, the seventh-grader gives a lot of credit for his achievements to his mother, Sabrina Dutton.

“I look up to her a lot,” he said. “She’s been teaching me since I was a kid, since I was little, since I was born!”

His mother returned the compliment and said that she has never had to push her son to pave his own way in the world.

“He is smart, driven, goal oriented, he doesn’t quit, he’s a perfectionist,” she boasted.

Initially the boy’s first goal was to buy toys, but following a conversation with his mother he decided he needed to start saving his money for his future, including for college.
