Allen M. Hornblum of Huntingdon Valley and Erich Prince of Lower Merion will honor healthcare workers with a plane-delivered message that reads “Philly Loves Its Doctors & Nurses,” writes Frank Kummer for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Hornblum, an author, got the idea several months back to have a plane fly over Philadelphia to thank healthcare workers amid the coronavirus pandemic. He approached two of his friends about it and they all agreed it was a good idea.

However the plan did not materialize for various reasons until this Wednesday at 1:00 p.m.

“We’ve been talking about the problems and our great respect and admiration for our doctors and nurses who are putting themselves on the front lines,” said Hornblum. “I said, ‘Let’s do something for them in the Yuletide season.”

Hornblum, Prince, and a third friend who wanted to remain anonymous split the costs of the message.

“Like everybody else, we feel for healthcare workers,” said Prince, editor of online magazine Merion West.

The friends looked at the prices of the flyover and decided to use Flysigns Aerial Advertising.

“Eventually, we found an outfit that seemed like a great fit,” said Prince.
