Small Business Saturday, Season Shopping Key to Survival of Many Ardmore Shops

By

Numerous small businesses are struggling to survive during the pandemic, which makes this Small Business Saturday and the overall season crucial for many in terms of whether they will still be open next year.

To help highlight some of Ardmore’s shops that are open for holiday shopping, FOX 29’s Good Day Weekend talked to Executive Director of Ardmore Initiative Nancy Scarlato.

“We have a lot of businesses that are geared up and ready to go for the holidays,” said Scarlato.

Among the many highlights is pucciManuli, which features toys and gifts for children of all ages, Styche, a contemporary women’s boutique which is offering significant discounts on current season merchandise, and Past Present Future, a fun and funky gift shop.

All of these businesses have put customer safety as a priority, offering face-time shopping, online shopping. There is also personal shopping where someone will pull out something for the customer to look at and then deliver it to their car.

And while there are plenty of choices on where to shop, “every dollar that you spend in our businesses goes directly to an individual store owner,” said Scarlato.
