Devon residents Cat and Kevin Huang are getting ready to open a third location of their upscale Chinese restaurant, DanDan, in Ardmore’s Suburban Square, writes Caroline O’Halloran for SAVVY Main Line.

The couple – both of whom are from Taiwan but met as students at Saint Joseph’s University – decided on Suburban Square as the location for their newest restaurant because a lot of their customers in Wayne were driving in from Ardmore. Also, Suburban Square is the midpoint between their existing establishments in Center City and Wayne, and a location there will make it easier to move food and staff among the three.

DanDan has done well throughout the pandemic.

“Our food travels well, and so many new people found us,” said Cat Huang.

Although volume has increased, delivery services like Caviar and Door Dash have eaten into their profits.

Few details about the new location are currently available. However, Huang did say that it will have a slightly more upscale vibe with booths and a private dining room in the skylit center.
