Data storage company Iron Mountain is vacating an office building in Collegeville and moving its operations to a Royersford facility that it acquired thirteen years ago from Wetherill Associates for $12.3 million, writes Natalie Kostelni for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The company has maintained its regional headquarters in Collegeville for the last two decades. However now it has decided to consolidate all operations at the 225,000-square-foot building about eight miles west from its current location.

And despite the several years still left on the lease, Iron Mountain managed to make a deal with the landlord, Norristown-based D2 Organization, to vacate the building.

“D2 Organization has come to an agreement with Iron Mountain on a buyout of its lease at 1000 Campus Drive in Collegeville,” stated the company.

D2 Organization is currently in the process of marketing the vacant building both to tenants and prospective buyers. The real estate company acquired the building three years ago for $13.26 million.

“We don’t have an asking price on it yet but we’re going to be extremely aggressive,” said Scott Gabrielsen, a broker with CBRE who has the listing.
