Audubon-based Bald Birds Brewing Company is spreading its wings and expanding its operations to Jersey Shore with a new taproom, event hall, and brewery, writes Linda Roller for the Mountain Home.

The brewery co-owned by Joe and Abby Feerrar opened its new location in an old manufacturing site last month.

“My husband, Joe, grew up in Jersey Shore,” said Abby Feerrar. “When we heard about the building becoming available, it was the right thing at the right time. It’s been a rush!”

The pair opened its original Audubon location in 2018. In less than a year they were ready to expand and decided on the Manayunk section of Philadelphia, where they opened a taproom.

The business was going so well that another expansion was required. The Jersey Shore location had its grand opening on September 18 with the brewing space covering nearly 90,000 square feet. Currently, there are fifteen to twenty finishing tanks and two brewing systems. This allows the brewery to make larger batches together with small batches of specialty brews.

And most importantly, the space is large enough that even with the pandemic restrictions, it can accommodate people safely.
