Philadelphia Magazine: Three Montco Craft Breweries to Visit by Cycling

With cycling popularity on the rise due to COVID-19, a plethora of bike trails across the Philadelphia Area, and plenty of breweries to visit, local cyclists are participating in brewery rides, write Laura Brzyski and Amanda Paule in Philadelphia Magazine.
Some breweries are easier to access by bike than others. A few local cyclists, who have either led brewery rides or joined one, list three Montgomery County breweries as best to visit by bike.
Right off the Schuylkill River trail, Conshohocken Brewing Company offers snacks and 10 taps. As a dog-friendly brewery, Conshohocken Brewing Company has an outside deck space that overlooks the trail and provides a place for cyclists to park their bikes. It even offers curbside pick up to take home and enjoy as a post-ride reward.
For the early-rising cyclist, Forest and Main Brewing Company in Ambler is open and offering curbside pick up from 9AM – 11AM on Saturday mornings at the Amber Farmers Market. As a lengthy adventure through the Wissahickon, Forest and Main Brewing Company is a nice place to take a break before continuing on just a minute’s ride around the corner to the Ambler Farmers Market for curbside pick up.
While not technically in Montgomery County, Phoenixville’s Root Down Brewing Company is an easy ride from Valley Forge Park and is right next to the Schuylkill River. With high ceilings and graffitied walls, Root Down offers a historic meets modern vibe. Outside seating can be found at the Root Down Biergarten, just a three-minute ride along French Creek.
