After a painful separation caused by the coronavirus pandemic, an Eagleville family finally had a reunion with its newest members nearly two months after their birth, writes Anndee Hochman for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Kendra Berry-Stankovich, Michael Stankovich, and their two children, six-year-old Wyatt Benjamin and four-year-old Isabel Grace, welcomed Danica Joy and Quinnlyn Rose into the family on February 20.

Since the babies were born prematurely, they had to stay at Einstein Medical Center Montgomery NICU. Over the following weeks, the family developed a new routine: they would visit the hospital each day to hold the twin sisters and change their tiny diapers.

But soon, the family received a shocking call. A nurse notified them that due to COVID-19, the entire medical center was on lockdown and no visits were allowed.

“It was a weird, strange period,” said Berry-Stankovich. “I had to grieve what I had imagined to be my birth experience, the kids meeting each other, bringing the babies home.”

Finally, on April 17 the overjoyed family got the green light to take the babies home and finally introduce them to their siblings.
