Amy Meyerson, a Villanova native and internationally best-selling book author, returns to the Main Line in her new book, The Imperfects, writes Lisa Dukart for the Main Line Today.

Meyerson, a Friends’ Central School alum, published her debut book, The Bookshop of Yesterdays, two years ago. Her newest – and second – endeavor focuses on the real-life Florentine Diamond, which was part of the Austrian crown jewels that went missing in 1919 and has never been seen again.

“The story starts in Bala Cynwyd, where the family’s grandmother, Helen, passes away,” explained Meyerson. “Upon going to her house, one of the siblings finds this brooch and quickly discovers it holds the Florentine Diamond. The family has to figure out how their grandmother, who was a seamstress, ended up with this prize crown jewel from Austria.”

The writer, who now lives in Los Angeles where she is a professor at the University of Southern California, was also includes some of her favorite Main Line spots in the book, including Hymie’s Deli.

“Every time I come home, we make a trip,” she said.
