See How Montgomery County Companies Did on This Year’s Fortune 500
Conshohocken-based AmerisourceBergen is once again the highest-ranked Philadelphia area company on the Fortune 500 list, coming in at tenth place, writes Kennedy Rose for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
The company held steady compared to last year, preserving its spot in the top ten of the annual list published by Fortune magazine that ranks 500 of the largest corporations nationwide by revenue.
This year, the 500 companies that made the list posted $14.2 trillion in combined revenue, making up two-thirds of the nation’s economy.
Two more Montgomery County companies made the Fortune 500, while three more found their place on the Fortune 1000.
King of Prussia-based UGI dropped 23 places compared to last year and is now ranked at No. 423, while Horsham-based Toll Brothers climbed two spots to land at No. 426.
Meanwhile, Penn Mutual Life Insurance, also based in Horsham, rose 56 places and is now ranked at No. 667.
Finally, Unisys, headquartered in Blue Bell, went up three places to No. 793 and BrightView Holdings, also of Blue Bell, dropped one spot to No. 891.
Nationwide, Walmart remained in first place with total revenue of $524 billion last year.
