Montgomery County COVID-19 Thursday Morning Update – April 2nd
Based on the information found on state and county’s COVID-19 website and the Wednesday afternoon commissioner press conference, here is quick snapshot of the spread of coronavirus across Montgomery County and the Delaware Valley.
There were 31 new positive Montgomery County COVID-19 cases reported on Wednesday.
The positive cases are from 19 municipalities, two of which, Rockledge and Upper Salford are reporting their first cases.
A breakdown of Wednesday’s reported new positive cases follows:
- Age Range: 10 to 94 years-old
- Age Brackets: (2) 10 – 19, (7) 20 – 29, (4) 30 – 39, (5) 40 – 49, (6) 50 – 59, (2) 60 – 69, (0) 70 – 79, (4) 80 – 89, (1) 90 – 94
- Gender: 15 females, 16 males
- Hospitalized: (7) Home, (16) Unknown, (8) Yes
The 31 new positive cases brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 595 countywide.
Of those 595 confirmed cases countywide, 300 are male, 286 are female.
The average age of individuals with COVID-19 is 48.7 years old with the youngest patient being a 2-month-old baby and a 95 year-old Abington man, the oldest.
Fiftythree of the county’s 62 municipalities are home to at least one individual with a positive COVID-19 diagnosis.

Two new coronavirus related death, an 86 year-old woman and a 82 year-old man, were reported in Montgomery County Wednesday, moving the County’s COVID-19 death toll to 10, 13.5-percent of the 74 deaths attributed to the coronavirus statewide.
The County’s total number of reported cases represent 10.2-percent of the 5,805 confirmed positive COVID-19 cases across Pennsylvania.
Since testing began on March 20th, Montgomery County has tested 2,636 individuals for COVID-19 at its Drive-through Testing Center in Upper Dublin. Of those tested, results from only 55-percent of the tests have been returned to the county. 13-percent of returned tests came back as positive.
By comparison, as of noon Wednesday, with the exception of Philadelphia County with 1,478 cases, neighboring and surrounding counties all have fewer positive COVID-19 cases than does Montgomery County:
