Gladwyne is Pennsylvania’s Second Most Expensive ZIP Code

By

Gladwyne is the second most expensive ZIP Code in Pennsylvania according to median home sale prices, with five more Montgomery County ZIP Codes making the top twenty, writes Eliza Theiss for PropertyShark.

The increase in house prices is a direct result of high demand and low inventory. This is especially true for the Greater Philadelphia area, which seems to be in the middle of a buying frenzy. This is making bidding wars and inflated offers increasingly common and pushing median home sale prices closer to pre-recession levels.

To compile the list of the most expensive ZIP Codes in the Keystone State, PropertyShark looked at all residential transactions that took place between August 2016 and July 2017, excluding package deals.

Gladwyne’s median sale price of $850,000 made it Montgomery County’s top ZIP Code. This is also over two and a half times the national median of $310,800.

Immediately behind Gladwyne is Merion Station’s 19066 with $620,000. Bryn Mawr’s 19010 ranked seventh with $510,000, while Fort Washington’s 19034 came in tenth with $472,000.

Wynnewood’s 19096 and Narberth’s 19072 also made the top twenty at 13 and 14, Wynnewood with $468,000 while Narberth is close behind at $462,500.
