Cherry Garth, an expanded historic log cabin with five bedrooms and three bathrooms, is available for sale in Wayne, writes Sandy Smith for the Philadelphia Magazine.

This seventeenth-century residence was built by Welsh trapper John Larvis and is the oldest house still in use in Montgomery County.

At the center of the home is the log cabin. Its log walls and stone mortar add character to both the living room at the heart of it and to the rooms that were added over several expansions.

The living room boasts a fireplace and a hand-blown glass bay window, while the dining room includes a fireplace and has access to the flagstone-paved sunroom.

Its modern eat-in kitchen blends nicely into the house’s character and is connected to the stone-wall-framed rear patio.

Meanwhile, the skylit master bedroom with an en-suite bath is on the upper level, along with four other bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a laundry room.

The location also offers extra privacy while still being near King of Prussia and downtown Wayne.

Read and see more of this house at 1180 Radnor Hill Road in Wayne, listed for $499,900, on the Philadelphia Magazine here.
