On March 7, Montgomery County Community College will host AAUW Lansdale’s “Discover Your Future” in STEM event for girls from grade five through eight.

The occasion is a day of interactive workshops led by outstanding women leaders and role models in various STEM fields, including biology, chemistry, technology, engineering, physics, and math. The goal of the program is to create a fun environment that will inspire girls to explore opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.

The event will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at MCCC’s Central Campus in Blue Bell for a nominal charge. Registration is currently open.

A free optional session for parents will feature keynote speaker Morgan Rollins, a former soccer goalkeeper for Tower Hill High School in Delaware and junior bioengineering student at Temple University. Rollins is the founder of Temple Prosthetics and Orthotics and recently received a $4,000 Creative Arts, Research, and Scholarship Program grant.

“Discover Your Future” aims to change the stereotype that girls are not as capable or lack interest in STEM subjects. It also provides a great opportunity for girls to imagine themselves in STEM careers.
