Sunday’s Historic Pottstown Holiday Tours To Benefit Third Annual Pottstown GoFourth! Fireworks Event
This year’s GoFourth! Historic Pottstown Holiday Tours are scheduled for December 8 and will benefit the Third Annual Pottstown GoFourth! Fireworks event, writes Michael Snyder for The Times Herald.
The afternoon will start with a visit to the Pottstown Elks Club; where guests will be able to enjoy tea. Afterward, a trolley will shuttle tour-goers to a dozen homes from Charlotte Street to Third.
During the rides, Michael Snyder, a Pottstown historian, will relate fascinating stories about the town’s past.
Tours will start at 1 and 3:30 p.m. from the Emmanuel Lutheran Church parking lot. Cookies, punch, and raffle baskets will be offered at the starting point.
A self-guided tour of these historic properties will also be available from 1 to 5 p.m.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to peek inside some of Pottstown’s fantastic homes, many of which are perfect examples of architecture ranging from Queen Ann Victorian to Revival styles,“ said Joann Bathurst, chairman of the GoFourth! Historic Holiday Tour.
A 2020 Pottstown Historic Calendar with photos by local artist Carol Brightbill depicting 12 of the tour’s houses will also be made available.
