Two Gladwyne homes are among the most expensive homes sold in the Philadelphia metro area in 2019, writes Sharon Oliver for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The top ten list consists of the most expensive homes sold within metropolitan Philadelphia from January to August 2019.

The majority of the list, or seven out of ten homes, are within Philadelphia itself, with Gladwyne and Newtown being home to the remaining three.

A six-bedroom, ten-bathroom home at 976 Idlewild Road in Gladwyne is in fourth place, having sold for $3.75 million. The home managed to achieve such a premium price in part due to its placement on one of Gladwyne’s most coveted cul-de-sacs.

Meanwhile, a 6-bedroom, 6-and-a-half-bathroom 1501 Waverly Road home in Gladwyn came in eighth with a price tag of $3.25 million.

According to the list, the most expensive home sold in the Philadelphia metro area so far this year is at 249 S. 24th Street #E in Philadelphia, which was snatched off the market for a hefty $4.33 million.
