The Historical Society of Montgomery County will present The History of King of Prussia Mall as part of its Making History Greater Series on December 5, according to a staff report from the Mainline Media News.

Author and historian Michael Shaw will be the presenter. He has spent the past two years carefully looking at the mall that has long been considered a shopper’s mecca. In addition to being one of the most recognizable landmarks of Montgomery County, the mall is also the largest in America in terms of leasable retail space.

Shaw will attempt to write the story of the iconic mall from its opening 56 years ago to today.

The presentation will be held at the Historical Society at 1654 DeKalb Street in Norristown. The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a social gathering and light refreshments available before the presentation starts at 7:00 p.m.

The free presentation will last around an hour with time for questions at the end, and is open to the public.
